				Client Challenge This leading biotechnology firm decided to develop a robust approach to flexibility to strengthen its recruitment, retention and productivity efforts. Amgen was prepared to create its own guidelines and online training tools to meet its exacting standards for Flexible Work Arrangements and their national requirements in more than a dozen of their European sites. They were concerned about the major workload involved in complying with multiple country standards. FlexWise™ Intervention In the context of a larger engagement - which included focus group research, training, senior team consulting and communication elements - Rupert and Company offered significant customization of its full set of FlexWise™ guidelines and online training tools. Drawing on its considerable experience with global flex applications, R&C helped develop a process that maximized the consistency of tools across the company while providing necessary but limited country-specific elements. Organizational Outcome The Flexwise™ toolkit and the larger FlexAbility rollout were well-received across both the US and European Amgen sites. The initiative has led to substantial usage of FWAs in the company, and helped engage employees in the wake of the firm’s first significant down-sizing.
